Kakabeka Falls

In 2006 my wife and I and a few friends did a Road Trip from Quebec to Alberta. On the drive home we decided to stop at the Niagara of the North Kakabeka Falls in the municipality of Oliver Paipoonge, Ontario.

It is quite a beautiful sight. Each cliff side is composed of shale and it quite fragile. Amazingly it contains some of the oldest recorded fossils. Some date as far back as 1.6 Billion years.

The falls themselves have an interesting legend to go along with them. The legend of Green Mantle states that an Ojibwe chief knew of an attack coming from the Sioux tribe. He asks his daughter Princess Green Mantle to figure out a way to protect her tribe. She entered the Sioux camp pretending to be lost. She bargained with her captives, promising to lead them to her father's camp. Placed at the head of their canoe convoy she gave directions down river. She lead them straight over the falls, sacrificing herself to save her people. There are different variations, but that is the jist of it.

Kakabeka Falls is a wonderful part of Ontario's geography, I recommend you visit it. If you would like a memento of this captivating place as a gift for your loved one I suggest that you go to Earth Claim and purchase a virtual deed for them. It would make the perfect last minute Christmas gift. Give it a shot.

Kennedy Space Center

We were fortunate enough to go on another big trip not even a month later. My family and I stayed in Florida with my in laws. It was nice to hang out by the pool, but the highlight was definitely going to the kennedy space center.

We had such a good time there, that we actually went twice. This was covered by a single admission.

I really enjoyed walking through the rocket gardens. They had various rockets from the past decades, you could go on a tour and they walked you through the garden basically explaining the evolution of space travel. Standing next to them really gave you a scale of what NASA is working on.

My favorite part was the bus tour around to the launch pad and past the vehicle assembly building. The VAB is gigantic. It was used to assemble the apollo rockets. Its door is so large that clouds have actually rolled in and start raining inside the building. It was very memorable, and for that reason I wanted some sort of keep sake. So once again I went to EarthClaim.com and bought another deed for my wall. You can see it here.

I find this is a really memorable keep sake, and it is easy to remember the great trip I had every time I look up at my wall. Highly recommended if you are looking for a unique gift.

The Louvre

I had heard so much about this museum over the years. Everyone said it was the place to visit in Paris. I had always wanted to see the Mona Lisa as it was painted by my favorite ninja turtle. I was really interested in seeing the different artifacts that had made it through the centuries.

When I was finally able to go I was not let down. My wife and baby girl flew to Paris with me for a week. We toured the whole city, but the highlight for me was the Louvre. I enjoyed it so much we went back on two separate days to ensure we saw as much as possible without being rushed. The size was incredible, the art was amazing, and even the building contained so much history.

To me, the Louvre was Paris. If I could own anything it would be that museum. So that I could tour around it at my leisure and just take in the history.

For my birthday my wife bought me the ultimate present. The Louvre. She found a site called EarthClaim.com where you could buy anything on earth in a parallel dimension. I even have the certificate to prove it. Check out my deed and see for yourself.
